Accommodations at the Pitcher Plant Farm

When you stay at the Pitcher Plant Farm, you are in for a back-to-nature lifestyle and an out-of-the-usual tourist destination. Situated at the boundary of the forest in a 700-meter altitude, the setting is rustic, the 400-meter road from the highway to the Farm is unpaved, and the lawn is more natural than manicured, occasionally munched by our four-legged companions.

Because the path is only lighted by a few solar lights, you get an increased appreciation for the added lighting provided by the fireflies, glow worms, flourescent mushrooms (!), the moon, and the stars. Sleep to the music of cicades and frogs with background vocals presented by visiting owls, and awake to the often foggy morning, with birds chirping, cows mooing, and ducks squawking. Take a walk down to the fish pond and the spring, watch our unique plants catching and eating their breakfast, do some birdwatching (as we have frequent visits by kingfisher, sunbirds, caucal and a lot of birds we haven't identified yet), soak in the firewood-heated outdoor bathtub, read your favorite novel on the adirondack chair, indulge in a relaxing massage from the village hilots, sign up for a day tour around Bukidnon, or simply sit back and do nothing. At night, bond with yourself or with loved ones in front of a bonfire.

Taste the home-baked bread from our mud oven and other garden-grown products.

Our farm spreads over more than a hectare of terrain, which features a natural spring, fish ponds, views to numerous surrounding mountains, rice paddies, and lots of forest. The land itself has an intense forest feel, due to more than a hundred fruit trees (Lanzones, Citrus, Rambutan, Marang, Durian, Santol, Jack Fruit, Longkong, Coffee and much more), giant Bamboo, Mahogany, and Eucalyptus trees. If you want to go hiking, you can start right at our farm. The forests behind our farm are habitat to many pitcher-plants species including Nepenthes truncata, merrilliana, petiolata, copelandii and more.

Even as you are deprived of the urban convenience, we provide you with a broadband internet service so you remain connected with our global village. Despite the ultra-remote feel, Gaisano Mall, Bethel hospital, the bus terminal and numerous restaurants are less than 4km away. And believe it or not, you can even call Jollibee to serve your dinner :) No greedy corkage fees here, but please take care of your trash then.

Pitcher Plant Farm is an ideal place for idea generation, report writing, retreat, and eco-tourism for individuals and small groups.
