Seeds for sale
Sorry, no pitcher plants yet. But we do have the following interesting plants:

Proboscidea lousianica
Commonly called the Devil's Claw and closely related to Ibicella this plant was
also suspected of being carnivorous. It is covered all over with sticky glue
glands that catch numerous gnats and tiny ants. Specialized bugs living on the
plant are eating the captured insects. The plant is fast growing and has large
purple flowers. It has to be propagated every year through seeds.
Mimosa pudica
The shy plant will actively close it's leafs and lower it's branches upon
touching. It has pretty pink flowers and looks best if it is regrown annually
from seeds.

Passiflora foetida
A passion fruit plant that was also suspected of being carnivorous. The flower
buds and parts of the leafs are protected by sticky glands that occasionally
kill their attackers. No digestive enzymes have been found on this plant yet.

Passiflora edulis flavicarpa
No, this one doesn't harm any insects, but it produces large fruits that are
very delicious. It harbors and feeds ants however. The fruits are very rich in
Vitamin C.

Caesalpina pulcherima
This one is also harmless. Just a very pretty, small (3m) tree that flowers
plentiful and frequently. The flowers are spectacular and emerge already from
young, only 40cm high plants. The plant loves pruning, so you can keep it at any
size.
Oxalis spec.
A wild Oxalis found in our nursery. It makes a lovely ground cover for tropical
gardens. Once the seed pods are touched, they shoot of their seeds like a
machine gun. Not all at once, but rapidly one after each other.
All seeds are US$2.50 for a package including international airmail. A package contains a minimum of 10 seeds.
